Kids in your community are waiting for a team. Will you help create one?

Mountain biking might look like a solo sport, but NICA is built on teams!

Bring Youth Mountain Biking to Your Community

NICA teams give young people a place to ride, belong, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of cycling. By starting a NICA team, you’ll create new opportunities for youth in your community while becoming part of a growing movement that’s reimagining youth sport through mountain biking.

Who can start a NICA team?

You can! You don’t need to be a professional coach, experienced race organizer, or elite rider to start a NICA team. Many teams begin with a parent, educator, community leader, or volunteer who wants to create positive opportunities for young people through cycling. If you’re passionate about helping youth ride, learn, and grow, NICA Canada provides the support and training to help you get started.

Supported every step of the way

When you start a team, NICA provides:

  • Coach education and training

  • Clear guidance on roles, expectations, and safety

  • Policies, insurance, and risk management

  • Practice resources and program tools

  • Plans and infrastructure to support practices

  • Ongoing support from the NICA community

NICA team support allows volunteers like you to focus on creating great experiences for kids in your community!
